  • Kyriah Dee Turn Around Press Release At a time when Ireland is on its knees financially and the world is watching and waiting to see how the nation will recover, one would least expect a flicker of hope and excitement emerging from the murmurs of complaints and aggravation. Despite that, one of the most distinct and powerful voices from the upcoming Irish urban music scene comes through with her debut single “Turn Around”. Born Samantha Boka, Kyriah Dee (pronounced Key-ra-ya) has wowed the likes of Linda Martin, Red Hurley, Kamal Ibrahim and Boyzone’s Shayne Lynch in years gone with her strong vocals at various competitions and as former member of the Victory Centre Choir. Now she breaks forth into the Irish Mainstream scene with her Pop single bound to shake the clubs, and make waves on TVs and Radio. The funk/pop instrumental by County Kildare based Producer Chris Kabs is reminiscent of Earth Wind and Fire’s track September garnished with strong brass and bass presence. Kyriah’s vocals on this track, a radical mix of Tina Turner’s power, range & fearlessness and Angelique Kidjo’s Afro-centric elements, places a unique stamp on the 23 year old song bird. Lyrically the song personifies the singer’s positive nature through the storms she has faced in her life.It is a positive message from a survivor of domestic violence. Kyriah was supported by Newbridge based domestic violence victims support group Teach Tearmainn on her road to recovery. Having attracted the attention of 2009 CNN Hero for defending the powerless Betty Makoni founder of the Girl Child Network, a charity that has the same function in Zimbabwe as Teach Tearmainn, Kyriah donates 30% of her royalties from Turn Around to the Girl Child Network to make provision for women's refuge in her home country and uses every opportunity to empower those who are hopeless as she was in the lowest moments of her life. Turn Around was released on iTunes on 1/1/11 by an Independent UK production and management entity A.B.R.A Records under parent company in A.B.R.A Tribe whose C.E.O is Multi Award winning African Dancehall Artist and Producer Jusa Dementor. Jusa, the Jack of many trades also shot and edited the Turn Around music video which be available on Youtube “The team (A.B.R.A Tribe) has been working on mentoring Kyriah for over 2 years now, and we are happy to be presenting to the world this song which is everything we stand on, and hopefully in future we can say our artist has started a wave of positive change with our help” said the C.E.O. Although she is originally from Zimbabwe, Kyriah lived in County Kildare since early 2002 and now inhabiting in the quite town of Clane with her 3 year old son. From singing since the age of 16 in her church, the budding star has now made a name for herself as quite the vocal performer.
